Geomorphology & Soils
GGI completed geomorphic mapping and soil stratigraphic studies in support of numerous environmental, archeological, water rights, spring inventory, geologic mapping and paleontological investigations.
These projects include geomorphic mapping and analysis of sediment transport through canyons in the vicinity of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), evaluation of the geomorphic context and delineation of soil stratigraphic relationships for archaeological sites in northern and central NM, soils analyses for wetlands delineation and mitigation projects, slope stability and seismic hazard analyses, and stratigraphic analysis of Pleistocene fossil localities.
GGI collaborates with LANL and New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (NMBGMR) in geomorphic and geologic mapping projects, including mapping of the Valles Caldera National Preserve (Valle Toledo, Valle San Antonio, Bland Quadrangles) and STATEMAP projects (Lobo Springs, Seboyeta, Grants).
