GIS Analysis & Map Production

GIS (geographic information system) is an important data analysis and mapping tool that is used in a variety of services provided by GGI. GIS is a combination of computer programs, databases containing geographic information, and georeferenced images.

GGI uses ESRI ArcMap and ArcView to compile geographic information for data analysis and map production. The database files created in ArcMap can be imported into other software, such as Surfer and Groundwater Vistas to contour data and create groundwater models. GGI has a large collection of geographic databases for New Mexico and southern Nevada and has access to national database collections.
