Groundwater Monitoring and Soil Remediation
In addition to the site investigations, GGI has the capacity to assist in compliance for monitoring requirements for existing remedial systems that are operating under a permit or for sites that have closure plans that require periodic sampling. GGI has developed site-specific monitoring plans for solid waste landfills that are closed, but that require sampling of groundwater and monitoring of methane gas near the surface. GGI also has provided portions of monitoring plans to obtain deep groundwater samples for clients who have discharge permits but do not wish to conduct the sampling portion of their permit requirements.
As stated in our tank investigation and remediation service portion, GGI has performed in-situ (or in-place) remedial actions for hydrocarbon contamination as well as the excavation of contaminated soils related to petroleum storage tanks, both aboveground and underground. GGI has installed, operated and provided performance evaluations for a variety of remediation systems such as product recovery systems, soil-vapor extraction systems, and ground water treatment (pump and treat) systems. As with the other services, GGI is capable of providing monitoring samples and reports in order to satisfy permit requirements.

GGI has qualified staff for supervision of activities associated with soil excavation including waste characterization, real-time monitoring and compliance sampling. These activities are summarized in complete closure reports that include important items such as disposal manifests and analytical results. GGI works with the client to keep them informed of any changes in scope or new circumstances encountered during the remedial activities.
