For more than a decade, GGI has provided a wide range of  compliance services to dairies and CAFOs ranging from as small as 600 milking cows to larger operations with 10,000 milking cows.  GGI has assisted dairy owners in their efforts to comply with Federal and state regulations that are constantly changing.  

GGI has an experienced dairy staff (NRCS-certified Technical Service Providers  in New Mexico, Nevada, Kansas, and Colorado )  that helped our clients acquire over $2,000,000 of EQIP funding in the last two years alone for improving  green water, lagoon and storm water pond structures to protect groundwater. GGI’s uniqueness is our blend of professional skills in agronomy, soil science, hydrology, geology, and water rights assistance that combines to products of the highest quality in support of this industry.

Services

Our staff has experience in working with Federal and state agencies such as the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP), the Farm Services Agency (FSA), and the various state offices of the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). GGI’s ability to interpret new regulations and to develop effective responses enable the dairy owner to satisfy these changes with minimal impact to their operations.

GGI has been providing services to dairies ranging from as small as 600 milking cows to larger operations with 10,000 milking cows. These operations are located in several states that offer many different challenges in regulations, climate, geography, hydrology, and public interest. GGI also incorporates new techniques and applications that are being developed by industry and professional specialists such as New Mexico State University and the NRCS. Selected Projects:

Over the last two years, GGI has been successful in assisting our clients to attain:

1. More than ten discharge permits for dairy operations approved by either NMED or NDEP
2. Over $2,000,000 of EQIP funding in order to improve green water lagoon and storm water pond structures to protect groundwater
3. More than a dozen Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans prepared and implemented for improved management of green water and manure application at dairies in New Mexico and Nevada
4. Over eight isotope studies to assist in determining the source of nitrate in groundwater
